John Ellis


John R. Ellis practices primarily in the areas of personal injury law. He handles cases involving automobile accidents, traumatic brain injury, and other general personal injury litigation. John also has a business background and routinely handles business transactions, and business litigation.

He earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Tulane University School of Law with an emphasis in civil law and corporate, income, state and local taxation. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Appalachian School of Law, where he served on the Board of Editors of the Law Review as Senior Editor and Associate Editor and was a recipient of the Faculty Scholar Academic Scholarship and the Who’s Who Among Graduate Students Award. He is trained in civil law, common law, and tax law. Mr. Ellis also earned his M.B.A. and B.S. in Finance, both with honors.

Since 2010, Mr. Ellis has served as the sole editor of Max Nathan, Jr.’s two-volume treatise entitled Louisiana Security Devices, encompassing the areas of mortgages, security agreements, negotiable instruments, and pledge.

Mr. Ellis is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
